PAL® is an award-winning, nationally recognized, evidence-based prevention program developed by the nonprofit organization Workers Assistance Program, Inc. It was designed for youth with a goal to shape extraordinary leaders.
OUR MISSION
To empower youth to build exceptional lives for themselves while helping to create better schools, communities, and beyond.
PAL® is a professional service of Workers Assistance Program, Inc., a certified 501(c), which began in 1980 as a peer helping program that innovatively combined peer assistance and peer leadership strategies developed in the 1970’s. Since then, we have significantly enhanced and expanded these basic prevention strategies.
The PAL® program has evolved from an informal, extra-curricular activity in a single school district, into a formally structured, curriculum-based, nationwide program. We have held the privilege of being a National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP) recognized program. PAL® has been adopted by Texas Education Agency (TEA), and is currently an accredited elective course.
Tory Gant has been our PAL® Training Director for over twenty years. He is an energetic motivational speaker with a unique, and often humorous style of speaking that engages, inspires, and gets people fired up to create positive change in their lives and communities!
