PAL® CERTIFICATION TRAINING – SECONDARY

Whether you are implementing PAL® in the classroom, or as a club, you MUST complete your PAL® Certification Training.

This in-depth course provides secondary educators an opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to implement and maintain a PAL® peer helping program.

The following components are covered:

  • Using the PAL® Teacher Manual
  • Ingredients for success
  • Recruitment and selection
  • Student training
  • Lesson planning
  • Grading
  • Supervision
  • Evaluation
  • Public relations
  • Helping projects
  • Service delivery to peers, schools, and your community
  • Other programmatic issues

This training is designed to follow the PAL® Teacher Manual and provides a hands-on opportunity to experience PAL® classroom activities.

Participation results in certification of participants as required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines and by PAL® curriculum fidelity standards. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available.

There is a one-day virtual training option, as well as a two-day in-person training option available. Training is limited to 25 participants.

PAL® CERTIFICATION TRAINING – RENEWAL

As a certified PAL® teacher, you are required to renew your PAL® Certification Training every three (3) years. This renewal training ensures you are receiving regular training and support essential for the quality implementation and successful outcomes of your PAL® program.

Additionally, this is one way in which we verify adherence to how the curriculum was designed to be implemented while maintaining fidelity, as required by TEA, and remain a TEA approved course.

The following components are covered:

  • Using the PAL® Teacher Manual
  • Ingredients for success
  • Recruitment and selection
  • Student training
