Whether you are implementing PAL® in the classroom, or as a club, you MUST obtain your PAL® Certification through PAL® in order to purchase curricula.
The official guide is the PAL® Teacher Manual. This manual is available for elementary*, middle, and high school PAL® teachers. All manuals provide teachers with step-by-step guidance in regard to every aspect of implementation of the PAL® model, including program orientation, recruitment and selection, student training, supervision, evaluation, and maintenance.
The student training section contains a Texas Education Agency (TEA) approved curriculum composed of eight components that collectively represent the training that PAL® teachers provide their PAL® students.
Cost: $200 packet contains two items: a PAL® Teacher Manual and a PAL® Student Handbook. Each school district should have at least one set per campus where a PAL® program is sponsored.

*The Elementary Teacher/Advisor Manual was developed by the Orange County Department of Education. It contains two complementary curricula: one for grades 3 & 4 and one for grades 5 & 6. Contained within the guide are specific activities that teach skills such as stress reduction, nutrition awareness, active listening, specific feedback, building self-confidence, cultural diversity, and more. The manual is available only to those who have successfully completed the PAL® Certification Training – Elementary. Training participants must purchase a PAL® Elementary Teacher/Advisor Manual at a cost of $200.
**Please note that while the middle and high school levels of the curriculum are taught in one training, there is a separate training that only covers the elementary level.
Available in both middle and high school versions, this handbook is the perfect companion to the PAL® Teacher Manual. While the Teacher Manual is designed to meet the needs of the educators coordinating PAL® programs, the Student Handbook is specifically designed for youth involved with the program, the PAL®s. The handbook includes instructions, worksheets, sample forms, and many activities to use with PAL® students.
